Terms and Conditions
Draft. This text describes how VV-Bot is designed to work. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and some features it mentions are still being built. It will be reviewed and updated before the service opens to the public.
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the VV-Bot website, dashboard, Discord bot and Minecraft plugin (together, "the service"), operated by the person named in the Impressum. By adding the bot to a Discord server, signing in, or installing the plugin you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age that applies to using Discord where you live.
- To add the bot to a Discord server you must have the permission to do so on that server. To use its dashboard you must own the server or hold Administrator on it, or have been added by one of its administrators, and then only for the parts they gave you.
- If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.
3. What the service is
VV-Bot provides ranks, XP roles, moderation, a chat bridge and related tools for Discord and Minecraft communities. It is under active development. Features can change, be added or be removed. The service is provided free of charge today. See the pricing page and the Refund Policy.
4. Your responsibilities
- Follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines and the Minecraft EULA. Nothing here overrides them.
- You are responsible for what you configure. If you switch on logging or moderation features you are responsible for telling your members and for having a lawful reason to process their data. See the Privacy Policy.
- Install the plugin only on servers you own or are authorised to administer. The plugin runs only the allowlisted actions that the server owner's own configuration permits.
- Keep your Discord account secure. Actions taken from your signed-in session are treated as yours.
5. What you must not do
- Try to access, change or learn anything about another server's data, or probe the service for ways to do so. If you find a weakness, tell us using the contact details on the contact page.
- Use the service to harass people, spread malware, or break the law.
- Overload the service, bypass rate limits, or scrape it automatically.
- Resell the service or use it to build a competing service from its data.
- Add the bot to a server after it has been banned from the service, or use another account to avoid a ban.
6. Suspension and ending
You can stop at any time by removing the bot from your Discord server and uninstalling the plugin. We may suspend or ban a server or user that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and where practical we will say why. After removal, data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and there is no service level agreement. We may change these terms. Material changes will be announced on the website before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
8. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost community activity arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which is zero for the free service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory consumer rights.
9. Not affiliated
Not an official Minecraft product. Not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. VV-Bot is an independent project and is not affiliated with Discord.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws that apply where the operator is established, without taking away mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
