Changelog
What changed in VV-Bot, newest first. The website and the bot update by themselves. The Minecraft plugin you update yourself: download the newest version, and your server console tells you when a newer one is out.
Browse every permission your plugins have
- New Permissions, then All permissions: every permission the plugins on your server know about, sorted by plugin, with what each one does and who has it by default. No need to know a permission's name: just scroll.
- New Pick a group or player at the top and give or take away permissions straight from the list. Each row shows whether they already have it, or get it from another group.
- New Plugin 1.1.0 tells the website which plugin each permission belongs to. Download it from the Install the plugin page.
- New A public changelog (this page).
- Improved Everything stored for your community is backed up every night, encrypted, and kept for 30 days.
Plugin download and faster sign-in
- New The VV-Bot plugin can be downloaded from the Install the plugin page, with a checksum to make sure the file is genuine. It already knows vv-bot.com: put it in your plugins folder, restart and pair.
- Improved Signing in with Discord is quicker, and after your first sign-in Discord no longer asks you to approve VV-Bot every time.
- Fixed Administrators who are not the owner of the Discord server can finish the staff step of the setup.
- Improved When something can only be changed by the server owner or a higher staff level, the message now says so in plain words.
Permissions editor, panel access and vv-bot.com
- New Permissions editor (Minecraft, then Permissions): see and change your server's LuckPerms groups, permissions, prefixes, rank order and players from the website. For the administrators of your Discord server; the Minecraft server owner switches it on in the plugin's config.
- Improved The permissions screens use plain words: groups as cards with their chat prefix in colour, tabs, a live chat preview, what a group gets from the groups it includes, and you stay on the page while a change is applied.
- New Panel access: administrators decide who else may use the dashboard and which parts of it. The Manage Server permission alone no longer opens it.
- New Ranks can have their own rank order, and existing LuckPerms groups can be imported as ranks.
- Improved Slash commands work in every server that adds the bot.
- New The website moved to vv-bot.com.
Simpler linking, faster dashboard, contact
- Improved Linking a Minecraft account only works with the code from /vv link in game, so nobody can claim someone else's account and staff no longer approve links by hand.
- Improved The dashboard is faster: the website, the bot and the database now run in Europe.
- Improved Adding the bot asks for every permission it may need at once (never Administrator), so features do not stop later over a missing permission.
- Improved Discord XP roles have one name, the Discord role's own. Renaming one on the dashboard renames the role.
- New Contact page and Impressum, and server owners can message the developer on Discord (also shown in /about).
- New Dashboard screens for the chat bridge and the chat logs.
- New Plugin option behind-proxy for servers behind Velocity or BungeeCord.
- Fixed A security review made many things stricter: roles with risky permissions (such as Administrator) cannot become XP roles, every connection has limits, and more.
The first full dashboard
- New Everything the bot's commands do can be done on the dashboard too: a setup wizard, members and account links, moderation, reports, suggestions, giveaways, ranks, XP, quests, leaderboards, channels, roles and messages.
- New A chat bridge between Minecraft and Discord, and chat logs that are off until you switch them on and encrypted when stored.
- New The Minecraft plugin: pair a server with a one-time code, ranks synced to LuckPerms, and account linking in game.
