Does the bot need the Administrator permission?

No, and the invite never asks for it. It asks for the specific permissions every feature can need, all at once, so a feature you switch on later does not fail for a forgotten permission. You can remove any of them in Server Settings, Roles, VV-Bot, and the dashboard shows what is missing for the features you use.

Who can open the dashboard for my server?

The server's administrators: the owner, and anyone with the Administrator permission on it. They always have the whole dashboard. Anyone else, including people with the Manage Server permission, opens it only when an administrator adds them on the Panel access page, and then only the parts the administrator ticked for them (plus the Overview and Activity pages). Access is checked again on every request, so a change applies on the next click.

Who can add people to the dashboard?

Only administrators. People who were added cannot see the Panel access page, cannot change their own parts, and cannot add or remove anyone. Nobody can add, restrict or remove the server owner. Only administrators can use the LuckPerms editor.

My moderators have a staff role in the bot but cannot open the dashboard. Why?

The dashboard knows what Discord tells it at sign-in: which servers you are in and whether you own them or hold Administrator. It does not read your roles in a server, so a mapped staff role alone does not open the dashboard. An administrator can add your moderators by Discord id on the Panel access page and choose the parts they may use. Staff still use the Discord commands that match their level.

Is it free?

Does it store my members' messages?

Not by default. Message and chat logging is opt-in per server, time-limited, and encrypted. Without it the bot reads a message only to count XP and to run a command, and does not keep the text. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Does it work without the plugin?

Yes. Discord-side features and status from a server list ping work without it. Account linking, rank sync and the chat bridge need the plugin.

Which Minecraft servers are supported?

Paper and its forks, with LuckPerms for rank sync. Bedrock players who join through Geyser and Floodgate are handled for identity.

Can I connect more than one Minecraft server?

Yes. Each server is paired separately and can be revoked on its own.

What happens when I remove the bot?

Its server connections are revoked straight away. Your data is kept for 30 days in case you invite the bot again, then deleted. Nothing is changed on your Discord or Minecraft servers.

Is this made by Mojang, Microsoft or Discord?

No. Not an official Minecraft product. Not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. VV-Bot is an independent project and is not affiliated with Discord.
